Lovely Colors from Zoya: Spring 2013 Review

I want to apologize to Zoya and my readers for posting this review so late. The holidays were so busy. There were also some personal problems that were pretty stressful. On top of that I have been sick, and I have been trying not to go to the doctor because I don't have insurance. Don't try online home remedies. I should blog about the ones I tried. Anywho, I have been working on this all day. I hope you like. :)

REVIEW:
Let me first say, I do not know how people like Scrangie do it. I did everything. I moisturized, trimmed, filed, de-cuticled, base coated, took my time painting, cleaned up, EVERYTHING!!! My manicure looked great, but when I went to take pictures, my camera picked up every single flaw. It was annoying. I would go back fix one thing and it wasn't enough. I still had to photoshop some pictures. I now know how famous people feel when they get made up and feel like they look amazing, go take pictures, and the photographer says,"no we need to air brush your imperfections." Sorry but this post was almost no fun for me.

On to the polish. Can I say I LOVE THIS COLLECTION! Backstory: these were released last year for NYFW and were designed by Zoya along with two designers. I was so upset when these colors were released in super limited quantities. They went so fast, I didn't hear they had been released and lost out on the chance of owning them. I think everyone is going to be happy with these colors, I know I am. This is the epitome of SPRING. My sister said my hand looked like an Easter egg. I think she meant it as an insult, yet I liked it. These are the colors I see when I close my eyes and think of Spring.

The metallic polishes are amazing, the shimmer is dazzling. I only needed 2 coats on Piaf, 3 coats on Gei Gei and Julie. I noticed with Julie I needed 3 too late. It looked fine, but the flash in the camera showed me my error. They go on beautifully and dry quickly. Blu and Neely are great too, they went on great and only needed two coats. It is weird to explain, I always have problems with cremes, but these went on nice. It is like the polish settled and moved into where it needed to go. Like it knew where the bald spots were. My least favorite was Jacquelene, I do not like nudes, even worse are nude cremes. This one did pull and leave bald spots. Nudes and I do not go together. However after 2 coats I got semi-full coverage. I recommend three. Overall, I love Zoya and these did not disappoint. I want to wear these forever. First Ornate, now Lovely, they keep out doing themselves. I just cant wait to see what else my favorite brand comes up with.

As Always  Much Love,
<3 Holly

2012 Cosmo VoxBox by Influenster

2012 Winter Cosmo Voxbox by Influenster

The four items included inside my 2012 Cosmo VoxBox by Influenster were; 2 FriXion Erasable pens by Pilot in black and red, Forever Red Perfume by Bath and Body Works, Sea Salt Escape Milk Chocolate Bar by Ghirardelli, and a Venus Embrace Razor by Gillette and a Venus and Olay Razor Cartridge refill. This was one of the best boxes by Influenster that I have yet to receive. Only four products, but four amazing products!

The Forever Red Perfume by Bath and Body Works is $10 for .25 fl oz. That might be the size I got. I prefer the smaller size. You can take it everywhere. Stick it in your purse and go, for those moments when oops, you forgot your deodorant and you stink! I think Forever Red smells pretty good, it smells a little like grapefruit to me. It has a little citrus tint to it. I am not a perfume connoisseur so I can't tell you exactly what is in it. Though, it is a little strong, so be aware of that.
The Influenster card says that the refills for these razors are only $3.50-$4.50 a month. However, I don't think so. I went to Wal-Mart and a package of those Venus and Olay refills were like $13-$16. So, yeah expensive. But you have to buy something, and all quality refills are expensive. I say wait for coupons. I say the Venus Embrace are the best of these two. However, the cool thing is that the refills are interchangeable with any of the handles.

I think this was my favorite item in the box. I love exciting school/office supplies. The card says these are 3 for $4.50. I want all the colors!!! These are the best erasable pens I have ever used. Do you remember those old school erasable pens? They sucked!!! You could still see the writing when you were done erasing. I always hated those, I felt cheated. Lied to. These new FriXion pens by Pilot are amazing. The little rubber thing at the end just makes the ink disappear. POOF! Gone. I can't wait to find these in stores. I want the Neon colors so bad.

The last item in the box was Sea Salt Escape milk chocolate bar with Almonds by Ghirardelli. These cost $2.79, they are a little more at their store in Disneyland California Adventure. Still worth it though. I think this is my favorite of all the Ghirardellli that I have had. Some are sometimes too sugary and I can't eat them, but the sea salt in this kind of breaks up the monotony of all the chocolate. It is definitely worth a try. I wish they had made this in dark chocolate, I know a lot of people who prefer dark.

REVIEW: This is the full size razor I was sent for review in my Cosmo VoxBox by Influenster. It is a Gillette Venus Embrace, I have not used one of these for about 10 years. Not since I was in college. My current blade is the Quattro by Schick. I am kind of glad I got to try these again. I forgot how gentle the sides can be. I am talking about the Venus Embrace, I actually like the close shave. I have reviewed the Venus and Olay before and while I did like it, it is a bit cumbersome. It isn't designed to go everywhere. And while it moisturizes, those floppy sides remind me of "girl" parts. I like a compact razor the gets the job done without killing me.

In case you couldn't see in the picture, the Venus brand handles are made to interchange with six different blades. So, you can find what is right for you and you don't have to commit.

As Always Much Love,
<3 Holly

My Winter Cravings- Cravebox

Winter Favorites Box from Cravebox

Check out the Official Winter Faves Cravebox page by clicking Here!!!

"Winter can be beautiful, but it isn’t always easy. It’s cold out there. And while our daylight gets shorter, our to-do lists sure don’t."

I opened the box and on top were three envelopes and a card/letter explaining what was inside. I love the little blue and white paper confetti that comes with every box. (though I have only participated in two Craveboxes.)
The letter is pretty cute, and below you can see how well everything was packaged.
The package was 5 lbs, I don't know how they make money on shipping these.
Inside were some pretty neat products, a full sized bottle of Heinz Chili Sauce, full sized Campbell's Golden Butternut Squash soup, some BelVita cookies, four different samples of VitaBath body wash, and a Mary Kay lip gloss. To be honest I have been so busy during the holidays, I have not had the chance to sample these products and I just opened this box. However, I am pretty happy with it. It was definitely worth $14.
I am not really a red lippy person, but I love the glitter in this Mary Kay Lip Gloss. The consistency is nice. It isn't too sticky.
Awesome surprise Alert!!! I didn't look inside the envelopes for the longest time and inside them were amazing coupons! Coupons for free Pillsbury items and other brands. This pushed this box way over $14.

I love Cravebox because this is the first subscription service where you choose the boxes you want and pay as you go. You don't like the theme of the box, don't buy it. SO AWESOME!!! So much better than the others out there that I have tried. Also, Cravebox is so worth the money. Each box is either going to cost anywhere from $10 to $15. You aren't even subscribed and there aren't any commitments. So far there have only been 2 themes that I have liked, but that is great, it means there is something for everyone.
