Today I am reviewing Dr.'s Remedy's Resolution Red Glitter and Passion Purple from their Holiday Hues: Jolly and Joy Collection.  The first is Resolution Red Glitter, now it isn't RED, it looks more like a copper foil glitter. Kind of like a shiny penny. A really light shiny penny. The red could be considered super fine and little in a silver base so it makes it look coppery. I think it is really pretty. I really love this color. It looks like a shiny Christmas ornament on a tree. I love it in the light. You really should see it in person.

It applied very nicely. EDIT: I only had a problem with the square lid. It was a bit awkward to handle. (I was told after the fact that the square lid comes off. LOL, just pull up and it comes off and there is a round lid underneath. Kind of like Butter London. Now I know and so do you. :) Problem easily solved.)  The polish also has a strong smell to it. However, Dr.'s Remedy has greatly improved their formula since their summer colors. This mani lasted over 24 hours and only had minimal tip wear. It dried really fast too. I was amazed, and I am the least patient person. This is my favorite of the collection. I am a glitter fanatic and this is so pretty.

(Looks like foil, pretty)

The second for review is Passion Purple. This like a deep grape juice. I took the picture of my right hand, which was really awkward. This polish was also different from the Summer colors, it was not grainy at all, but perfectly smooth. A great improvement. I really liked this color. :)

Today I am reviewing Dr.'s Remedy's Revive Ruby Red from their Holiday Hues: Jolly and Joy. This is a stunning red. It is bright and shinning. It is like a bright candy apple red, or like the stripe from a home-made candy cane. You know what I'm talking about. The red in those hand made candy canes, like in those old-fashioned candy stores. The red in those candy canes is so bright and shiny and glossy. Mmm There is one of those candy stores in Columbia, CA, where my grandma lives, and they make ribbon candy with this kind of red.
Anyway, it is a beautiful red. This polish was not at all grainy. It was perfectly smooth. This mani lasted over 24 hours and only had minimal tip wear. This is one of my favorite colors from the holiday collection. Can't wait to review the rest.

Birchbox: November 2011 (Image heavy)

My third Birchbox was November, and let me say, I was not so very impressed. The only thing I was excited about was the mini Zoya. Which was what I needed to complete my Gems and Jewels collection. I just have to resign myself to the fact that they no longer give full size products.

The very nice card that comes in every box that explains all the products in the box. I do enjoy the card, I just wish the products were more exciting.
This was the coolest thing about Birchbox so far, in all three months. I got another color but traded it for Noel. I needed this to finish up my collection. Now I have all my Gems and Jewels. Yay.
This is a mud mask, by Borghese, and I will try this out, I hope it doesn't make my face worse. I hope it cleans out my pores and makes my face smooth. We will see.
LMAO. A post card and a perfume sample. This makes me laugh. SERIOUSLY!!! You can get this shit at any store. I mean I got three samples of perfume at Coach and Victoria's secret. I dunno this kind of pisses me off, how is this a deluxe sample? Birchbox is getting cheap.
I actually like this LaRocca lotion it is kind of soft and really does smell good. Though you don't get too much. Oh well. I will use it but won't buy it.
Oh and as an extra, COASTERS!!! WOW!!! (I'm being sarcastic) Coasters you can get at any restaurant. Can you say stupid!!!??? If it wasn't for the Zoya, I would say it was the stupidest Birchbox ever!!! Coasters, really?! Sucktastic. I'm thinking I should just start writing to all these companies, and I can get samples from them without having to pay Birchbox any money. Anywho, there are some other companies I have been looking into that are $10 a month, and have full size samples. One is MyGlam.com the other is Cravebox. I am giving Birchbox one last month then I am heading over to MyGlam.

Anyway, As Always Mush Love,

Craft Time: Ribbon Christmas Tree (image heavy)

Today I made a Christmas tree made out of ribbon. My sister had made these a couple of years ago and I finally got around to making one. They are really pretty once they are put together. Now I know ribbon can be pretty expensive but wait for a sale. I got some beautiful ribbon at Michael's for 60% off, each spool came out to .70 cents a piece. Also, make sure you have some of their 40% off coupons because the Styrofoam is pricey.

What you will need:
1.) A Styrofoam cone, I got the second smallest. It was $4, without a coupon.
2.) Ribbon. I would say about six spools. These were $1.99 a piece, $0.70 after the sale. Get colors that look good together. I got pinks and blues, snowmen themed. I am also a sucker for glitter.
3.) You need to go to the sewing section and find these pins. I got a package of 500 for $3 something. You can make several trees with this.
4.) You need a Ruler and some Scissors.

Once you have everything, take your ribbon and start cutting it into 3 inch pieces. (as pictured below) I cut about 15 pieces of each color, I ended up needing more, but it is a good start. (If you want your loopies to be longer cut them to 4 inches. Especially if you have thicker ribbon.)
Then take your first piece of ribbon and fold in half and take a pin, and pin through the top. The stick into the Styrofoam, just high enough so the bottom of the loop hits the bottom of you foam. Then continue all around with your different colors of ribbon. (pictured below) I wasn't exactly perfect.
Each row that follows, should have the bottom of the loop come to mid- row, of the previous row. Um you can see in the picture below.
And you just keep doing it til you get all the way to the top. Sometimes you will get the same color to close to each other so just switch up the pattern. Move around the ribbon a little. When you get to the top you can do whatever you want, you can make a huge bow, I decided just to make a little loopy. I liked it. :) Anyway Below is the finished product. This is a pretty simple, fun, and beautiful craft. Anyone can do it. Oh, yeah beware sticking your fingers with the PINS!!! OUCH!!! That really hurt. Other than that it was fun. :)
Finished Product

Finished product on the window sill by the front door ready to welcome people to our home. :)

I hope you like my little project I worked super hard on it. ;-) I just love the colors. I was also super lucky to get such a good deal on the ribbon. I hope if you want to make one, you will be able to buy some just as cheap. I think they are 50% off right now at Michael's. I want to make another one. I just might, in red and greens. Anywho, I hope all my readers are having a great holiday season so far. As Always Mush Love,
