Felt Plushies

I've been really depressed lately, yeah, that is why I've been neglecting my blog. Sorry. To keep my mind off things I have started making these cute lil' felt creatures. I started making Candy Corn for Halloween for my Secret Pumpkin gift. Then my niece and nephew wanted the ghosts really bad. :) So they each got a little ghost. Then my brain went off and wanted to make some for Christmas. So far I have only made three designs. It takes me a bit. I'm a slow worker. I need to go back to Michael's and get more felt, some sequins and some ribbon. I have so many ideas for Christmas. They are stuffed with Cotton balls, my ode to Nail Polish. And each has a lil felt heart, so you can make a wish on it. :) Anywho, they are pictured below.

EDIT: Added a Jack o' Lantern

These are the first three designs I've done so far. I've done 4 Candy Corn, 2 Ghosts, and 1 Candy Cane. :) I am going to try a Jack O' Lantern Next. :) As Always Much Love,

Arthritis Awareness Day

I've never really talked about how my mom died. She died from complications from her Rheumatoid Arthritis medications. I saw this disease tear her apart and eat her alive. I don't want to think about it. Anyway, there is no cure, since its an auto-immune disorder. There are only super dangerous drugs that can slow down it's progress. I just pray that one day there can be a cure. That one day we can stop this disease. If only, so that someone else doesn't have to go through what my mother went through.

Click HERE, for info on R.A. Early detection is super important. I wish my mom had found hers early.

So, taking a page from The Kracked Kat, I decided to do an awareness mani myself. I used a dark purple, Revlon's Facets of Fuchsia and drew a ribbon on my accent nail in Orly's Frolic.

This is so me :)

Yes, everyone here at home is afraid to "Wake the bear." LMAO. I love this picture because this is so me. I dare anyone to wake me up. RAWR!!! My niece is the bravest one of all. Whenever we need to go anywhere she wakes me up. She tip toes in and whispers,"Nini, nini, it's time to wake up." It makes me laugh she sounds so scared. But I've never yelled at her. Just growled a little. LOL. Anywho.

Review: NYC Backstage Brown

The second NYC polish I will be reviewing today is, Backstage Brown. It is a beautiful coppery light brown. I really thought I wasn't going to like this color, because I hate browns, but when I applied the polish it surprised me. It was more of a copper. It went really well with my skin tone. I liked it a lot. I was pleasantly surprised.

(NYC Backstage Brown)

I love the color. The application was awesome. Way easier than the gray I applied the day before. It was not goopy. I also love the flat brush. There have been no chips, so the wear has been great even after 24 hours. With a coat of Out the Door, this color dries really fast and smooth. For a cheaper nail polish, it really does not have a bad smell.

There isn't anything I can say.

These can be found at Wal-Mart for about .97 cents. Wal-Mart usually has a large variety too.

Review: NYC Scenestealer Gray

NYC sent in 3 polishes for review, the first I will be reviewing is Scenestealer Gray. It is a pretty gunmetal blue-gray.
(NYC Scenestealer Gray)
Pros: I really like the color. The brush is flat and I really like the way it applies. The polish wasn't thick. With two coats it was pretty opaque. It still hasn't chipped after 24 hours.
Cons: I don't know if this is a fast drying polish but some polish would dry and goop onto the brush and kind of mess up my nails. I don't know if I was going too slow. All I know is I did not like when this happened. It happened twice.

(2 coats of SS Gray, 1 Coat Out the Door)
(A nice blue gunmetal gray)

Also, this color is a very close sister to Deborah Lippmann's Hit Me With Your Best Shot. I would not say it is a dupe. D.L.'s is darker. I would say it is really close. If you want HMWYBS, Scenestealer Gray is a very reasonably priced alternative. They are both gunmetals. They both wear well.

(D.L. Hit Me With Your Best Shot, 2 Coats)

NYC can be found at most Drug Stores. I've seen them most at Wal-Mart's, they have a larger selection. They are .97, I believe.

My Sunshine

Today is 5 months since my mom died. I don't know how I have made it this long. Every day has seemed interminable and like I am living in hell. But, I wake up and keep breathing like she would have wanted me to. I keep breathing for her. My mom's favorite color was yellow. She loved yellow. Her favorite flowers were daffodils. I called her my Sunshine. She was my sunshine. She had blond hair. She was bright and happy and always saw the good in things. She also had the strongest Faith in God. She loved Jesus more than anything and I know in my heart she is in Heaven right now. Wow. Look at that picture of her, she is utter and complete sunshine. She takes my breath away.

When I saw China Glaze's Sunshine, I thought of her. I instantly thought of my mom. I thought I had to have this polish. Karin of Rin's Nail Files, did me a huge favor and got me this, and it made me really happy. You should see this color in the sun. It comes alive. It is so pretty. Unfortunately, it is a little uneven as a polish and sheer. It also doesn't go with my skin tone. It just doesn't pop, like it should. I am going to keep it and use it for nail art and skittle manis. I also want to use it to make some polish jewelry. I think that would be special.

(You can see it is a little streaky)
